BRISTOL and BRANSON are twin teenaged girls at an All-Girls Catholic school, plaid skirts and all. They are in the waiting room of the principal’s office for an incident. We hear hysterical arguing from the office. The girls are uninterested.
BRISTOL
You’d think with the mission of “educating the next generation of Catholic women the way of Jesus Christ” we’d be rewarded for our efforts to enact his will.
BRANSON
No good deed goes unpunished, I suppose.
BRISTOL
Mom will be devastated if we get kicked out.
BRANSON
Devastated that the school isn’t upholding their own values! She knows we would never do anything that wasn’t mandated in the Bible.
BRISTOL
We do tend to take it too far sometimes though, don’t we?
BRANSON
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
BRISTOL
Don’t quote scripture at me to get out of an argument.
BRANSON
Fern sinned apart from the law. We sinned under the law. Our retribution was warranted and we will be rewarded in the hereafter.
BRISTOL
I somehow doubt that will be a comfort to our parents.
