It’s that time of year again where I get back in the habit of writing every day thanks to Threshold Theater in Minneapolis!

Looking for a way to not feel so hopeless? I’m going to be posting mutual aid organizations that also won’t have anything to do with my writing!
Today I’d like to shout out One Fair Wage. One Fair Wage is a national organization working together to end all subminimum wages in the United States and raise wages and working conditions in the service sector in particular. One Fair Wage policy would require all employers to pay the full minimum wage with fair, non-discriminatory tips on top, thus lifting millions of tipped and subminimum wage workers nationally out of poverty.
I will continue these highlights throughout the month of November so if you have an organization you’d like a shout out, let me know!

OLA

CLAUDE
I noticed in your contract your name… it’s Viola? But you go by Ola.
OLA
Yes.
CLAUDE
Given our pivot into more of a rock, pop sound, I think maybe we should go with something a little less flowery. Have you ever gone by Vi?
OLA
Can’t say that I have.
CLAUDE
Why don’t we try it then. Just to see how it plays.
OLA
Whatever. Sure. Put it in the contract. My ex is the one that started calling me Ola anyway.
CLAUDE
Your ex? I’m so sorry to hear it didn’t work out with… Tia?
OLA
No you’re not.
CLAUDE
Don’t under estimate my compassion.
OLA
I’m not. And you know it. Are we done here?
CLAUDE
For now. I’ll add the rebrand to the packet and then we’ll be ready to sign, make it official and start recording. Congratulations, Vi, you are going to be star.
