It’s that time of year again where I get back in the habit of writing every day thanks to Threshold Theater in Minneapolis!
Answer to “How are you doing?” a la The Princess Bride:
Now where were we?
Oh, yes. The pit of despair!
Looking for a way to not feel so hopeless? I’m going to be posting mutual aid organizations that also won’t have anything to do with my writing!
Today I’d like to shout out Moms Demand Action. Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence.
I will continue these highlights throughout the month of November so if you have an organization you’d like a shout out, let me know!
Threshold Prompt:
Day 12 - The Neon Sign, The Keys, The Door
And now for my completely unrelated writing:
VI
Y’all have been great! Truly, it’s a dream come true to be here with y’all, singing my music.
[pause as crowd cheers]
Well, almost a dream come true, because there’s a piece missing here. Some of you know I got my start here in Nashville, I played down at the Blackbird Coffeeshop and I lived in East Nashville for a few years with someone special, someone who in my dreams would be on the stage with me. And I wrote this song, for her.
[Opening chords for Wallflower]
