It’s that time of year again where I get back in the habit of writing every day thanks to Threshold Theater in Minneapolis!
Answer to “How are you doing?” a la The Princess Bride:
Now where were we?
Oh, yes. The pit of despair!
Looking for a way to not feel so hopeless? I’m going to be posting mutual aid and nonprofits organizations that also won’t have anything to do with my writing!
Today’s non-profit is Friends of the Boundary Waters. Their mission is to protect the Boundary Waters and to connect people of all backgrounds to the wilderness, so that this and future generations benefit from this special place. Environmental protections will be under fire and supporting organizations that work to preserve these spaces (and fresh water) will be more important than ever.
I will continue these highlights throughout the month of November so if you have an organization you’d like a shout out, let me know!
Threshold Prompt:
Day 17 - The Gilded Lily
And now for my completely unrelated writing:
Lead in from lines previously written:
BASH
I’ll do what I can…
VI
Thanks.
BASH
Don’t mention it. Think of it as delayed compensation for telling you to sell your soul.
VI
Yeah, well, if you hadn’t we wouldn’t be here.
BASH
But you might be happy.
VI
Who says I’m not happy?
BASH
Your face.
VI
Bash…
BASH
You haven’t been happy since you left Thea.
VI
That’s not what happened.
BASH
Okay, okay. You haven’t been happy since you became “Vi”. And if singing a song you wrote when you were Ola is going to make you happy, then I’ll do what I can to make that happen.
VI
Thanks.
BASH
Why do you need my help anyway? You’re the star.
VI
Yeah, but you’re the man.
BASH
Ah yes. The wonderful world of misogyny.
VI
Meaning the world.
BASH
Sad but true.
